The Vegreville Skating Club was founded in 1961, and was known as the Vegreville Figure Skating Club. The club was founded by Mr. and Mrs. Nick Chomik. Mr. Chomik approached the Chamber of Commerce for financial support and the club was born.
 

We have had two skaters go to the Canadian Nationals: Troy Ruptash, who came home with a bronze medal in 1979 and Jared Fell who skated at the 2013 Canadian Nationals; he competed
in Novice Ice Dance and placed 6th overall with his partner.
 

The highlight of the skating year is the annual carnival held in March with all our skaters performing.
 

The Vegreville Skating Club is dedicated to providing the youth of Vegreville with the opportunity to participate in skating for fun, fitness, and achievement.
