About Us

Ice Skating Together

Our History & Approach

Skater Progression

The Vegreville Skating Club was founded in 1961, known at the time as The Vegreville Figure Skating Club. The club was founded by Mr. and Mrs. Nick Chomik. Mr. Chomik approached the Chamber of Commerce for financial support and the club was born.

At Vegreville Skating Club, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn and excel in the sport of skating. Our experienced coaches provide a supportive and challenging environment that allows skaters to develop their skills and reach their full potential. With a focus on tradition, precision, and grace, we aim to instill a lifelong love of skating in each of our students.

We have had two skaters go to the Canadian Nationals: Troy Ruptash, who came home with a bronze medal in 1979 and Jared Fell who skated at the 2013 Canadian Nationals; he competed in Novice Ice Dance and placed 6th overall with his partner.
